At Lingolese, we firmly believe in giving you the qualified and experienced language trainers you need. But this doesn’t begin and end with the necessary and expected teaching expertise.
As trainers who came into this profession later in our careers, we found that it was our rich and varied tapestry of experiences that made your training sessions different. We’re not just language trainers – we’re qualified professionals who believe in your continuing professional development.
In our previous careers, we gained invaluable experience in management and administration, in teamwork, in presenting ideas and concepts clearly, and in getting messages across effectively. This allows us to better understand the challenges you face day to day – and to help you build the language skills you need to navigate them.

Vincent Wongaiham-Petersen, Director of Studies
After graduating with honours from the Bachelor in Communications programme of one of the most prestigious universities in the Philippines (Ateneo de Manila) and completing an international management trainee program at Lufthansa, Vincent pursued his Master’s degree in Economics at the University of Hamburg.
He is fluent in three languages and can get by in Mandarin, Spanish, and Fujian — perhaps not surprising for someone shaped by four different cultures. This multicultural background has also made him our resident intercultural expert. Vincent gives lectures at universities and has been working in corporate business training since 2009.
In addition to directing Lingolese, he is responsible for the Filipino (Tagalog) language program at the University of Hamburg. He has also been an active member of professional teaching associations for many years: formerly Events Coordinator and now Co-Chair of HELTA (Hamburg English Language Teaching Association); member of SIETAR UK (Society for Intercultural Education, Training and Research); and active member of IATEFL (International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language) and its specialist interest group BESIG (Business English Special Interest Group).Outside of work, Vincent is an avid film fan, loves his Killer Sudoku, and never misses his daily dose of NYT Connections, Wordle, and caffeine.
